Personal Background
I am a wife to my husband and the mother of three beautiful children. I grew up on a farm in rural Saskatchewan. I have a master’s degree and am a faith-based mental therapist.
Understanding Financial Stress
In my practice as a mental health therapist, I have found that finances are a major stressor for people. It is no surprise that surveys from the Government of Canada concluded that “for many Canadians, money worries are the greatest source of stress, more than work, personal health, and relationships” (Government of Canada, 2019). As a result, I began to learn more about psychology, faith, and finance and started implementing what I was learning.
Investment Challenges
I also started investing on my own, but I found it to be semi-successful and it took up too much of my time and focus. I concluded I needed much more knowledge, support, and a system.
Partnership with Daryl Cooper
Eventually, I was led to connect with Daryl Cooper. I have known Daryl for a good while now, and I respect his experience and trust him. We connected for a meeting, but the Lord had bigger plans. We emerged from that meeting as business partners in Thy Kingdom Come Enterprises.
Learning and Growth
I began my internship with Daryl in the wealth management side of things, and I quickly learned how powerful his and Bart’s offering is compared to many others I have come across.
Risk Management and Safeguards
I am not a high-risk investor, and I am concerned about the current state of the economy. Growing up on the farm, Dad always told us kids that we were too young to remember when times were tough, and the truth is that it is not a matter of if those times will come back around, but when.
Stewardship and Faith
1 Chronicles 29:14 illustrates the importance of stewarding resources responsibly: “Everything comes from You, and we have given You only what comes from Your hand.” I want to ensure that all the Lord gives us is stewarded to the best of our ability and our finances.
